Tijaniya method in Türkiye
The leader of the Tijaniyya movement in Türkiye, Kemal Belavoglu, in 1950 called for the abolition of Ataturkism and a return to Islam. The government at the time tried to try him, but his supporters held strong demonstrations in front of the court in Ankara, forcing them to postpone the trial.
Its sheikh was Kemal Belavoglu, a Turkish businessman skilled in law, who played a major role in strengthening the Tijaniya centers in Türkiye.
In May 1951, Al-Tijaniya distributed a leaflet in Ankara containing a political program, and called for the establishment of a new constitution based on Islamic law.
