Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse in Palestine
In Mawsu‘at al-Athar al-Nathriyya – Section Seven – page 202, one finds his letter addressed to the Secretary General of the Islamic Conference in Palestine:
“All praise belongs to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet.
To the honorable الأستاذ Kamal Sharif, Secretary General of the General Islamic Conference:
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
I received your noble invitation with great joy and happiness, and I have resolved to answer this invitation at the appointed time—that is, before the Night of al-Isra’.
Please accept from me my sincere thanks and best wishes.
May Allah unite us in those sacred lands during the holiest of nights. Amin.
Peace be upon you.”
He also said in his speech in Palestine (page 201):
“I am delighted, pleased, honored, and proud of the convening of the summit conference of Arab kings and heads of state regarding the issue of the Muslims of Palestine.
Whenever the disagreements among Arab leaders were mentioned, I used to say: ‘It is dust beneath which there is light’—the dust of misunderstanding, beneath which lie the lights of brotherhood, unity of origin, language, religion, and shared interests and hardships.
However, I implore you by Allah, by friendship, and by brotherhood in faith: do not leave this land until your rights are restored to you. You are capable of doing so. Indeed, each one of your states is capable of it individually, so what then about all of you united together?
By Allah, if I possessed the power and resources that even one Arab state possesses, I would liberate Palestine.
Therefore, look seriously into this matter, both religiously and worldly, for in it lies the right of kinship and the right of faith.
Your enemy is weak and insignificant compared to you. He boasts that the power of colonialism stands with him, while you possess the power of truth and justice:
‘If you support Allah, He will support you…’”
